This is how we’re tailoring a one-of-a-kind training program.

March 2021

The goal in June 2020 was simple. Synthesize all the enterprise architecture craftmanship within Colruyt Group into a one-of-a-kind training program unparalleled on the European market. You've got exactly 5 months. At Myreas, we’re always up for a challenge!

6 building blocks

In June 2020, the complete approach was still in the starting blocks, but in the meantime the training has become a comprehensive curriculum of 35 courses covering all the major hard skills of enterprise architecture. We have structured the different modules into 6 major blocks:

  • Introduction Colruyt Group: the importance of identity, culture and the structure of the organization are key

  • Values to identity: we look at the different reference models, capabilities, pace layering, value chain,...

  • Identity to goals: the translation of a strategic framework into a strategic plan

  • Colruyt Group Architecture landscape introduction: a deep dive into the TOM choices and the technology landscape

  • Goals to result: the role of architecture within programs

  • Support: an extensive tour through the different tools, processes and documentation

Always putting the EA in tEAm

How do you work this out? Not alone of course! We worked together with a team of 22 enterprise architects within Myreas. All of them with a different approach and from different backgrounds. This unique melting pot has helped us, on the one hand, to keep questioning certain things and, on the other hand, to keep exploring other topics in more detail (e.g., identity to goals). We also consciously chose to involve newcomers from the start in order to keep an open mind at all times and to offer them an instant crash course in EA.

Expanding a solid foundation

By organizing these classes on a monthly basis, investing 60 hours per participant each month, we’ve noticed we’ve laid a solid foundation for our growing team of enterprise architects. Which is a good thing, because we’ve doubled in size last year. Of course, we’re not stopping here and in the meantime, we have also initiated an EA training course with a specific focus on soft skills. In the coming months, different colleagues within Myreas will continue to work on this so that we can enrich the current modules with new elements that focus mainly on leadership skills, (change) communication and building trust as a trusted advisor.
