Enterprise Architecture is part of Colruyt Group's DNA. But where does that strategic choice come from? And how did it ultimately lead to the foundation of Myreas? We went looking for answers in the history of EA within Colruyt Group. In a first episode, we look back on the 80s and 90s. The years of the first automations and strategic takeovers and acquisitions.

Information management, business intelligence and analytics are entirely Koen’s area of expertise. At the start of 2019, he received a vacancy of Enterprise Business Architect through an acquaintance from his network. The job title did not tell him much, but the description intrigued him immediately. It felt like that missing piece of the puzzle he had been looking for professionally, without realizing it.

If you ask us what do we pay attention to at Myreas when recruiting enterprise architects, we could go on for a few days. We’ve asked our Head of Enterprise Business Architecture, Marc Vandeperre to summarise it and guide people in their path towards a job at Myreas.

If you are active on a number of fronts in the same organisation, you will benefit greatly from doing that based on a standard architecture methodology. And that's exactly what has happened in recent years within the Colruyt Group. Now it’s time for the next phase.

When 3 Chief EAs simultaneously decide to move to Myreas, we are obviously intrigued. What is it about our story that appeals to them? What is it that they are still looking for - given their extensive experience in enterprise architecture? What do they expect from an employer anyway? And what made them so sure they will find that at Myreas?

To say these are strange times would be an understatement. But it's a fact that an open mind gets more out of an experience. And although we are keen to be pioneers in the area of technology, we are only too happy to revert to paper for our inspiration. We asked some colleagues (thanks Erwin, Dimi, Virginie and Dries) for their book tips to keep us inspired while staying at home.
